Leading Edge Hood Shield are mounted at least 1" away from the hood with patented bracket system and break-away nylon fastener system that is capable of clearing extremely tight hood tolerances and still keeping it away from the surface of your hood, protecting it from debris as well as from contact with the hood shield. The Leading Edge bracket system creates a drain system that prevents the build-up of damaging moisture and debris. The Leading Edge rubber washer isolation prevents damage caused by contact between plastic and steel. The high impact acrylic used on LE and LX Series is thicker and more rigid than the competitors products. Unlike Lexan Polycarbonate, acrylic won't flex against the hood and will not "yellow" or become dull when exposed to the elements.
